ChiRunning™- Learn how to run forever at any age without pain!

This revolutionary, ever-evolving approach to effortless, energy-efficient, injury-free running was developed by ultra-marathoner Danny Dreyer. ChiRunning™ differs from traditional running in that the focus is on FORM first, then distance, then speed. Most people train to run in the opposite order and experience pain and sometimes injury. The goal of ChiRunning™ is to be able to feel great and “built up” after a workout rather than run down, spent or injured. ChiRunning™ is a practice similar to Yoga and Pilates or Tai Chi. Eventually, with practice, ChiRunning™ becomes second nature. 

Joel Matalon brought this program to the Northeast.  He was Chi Living's first certified Chi Running and Chi Walking instructor and is the Director of Education for Chi Living.

The ChiWalking™ technique emphasizes the proper biomechanics of walking, including: good posture, loose joints, engaging one’s core muscles and relaxing the peripheral muscles of the arms and legs. This approach makes walking easier on the body and helps improve and eliminate the aches, pains and discomfort of walking incorrectly. Since walking is such a basic, everyday movement, when your walking form is improved, the benefits are far reaching.

Joel was able to continue his marathon and Ironman events after rehabbing from knee surgery with Chi Running & Walking.
